Book Festival

Factory of Inspiration is a cultural initiative launched by Opolgraf Printing House, aimed at promoting literature and fostering a culture of reading. The project features author events with writers, journalists, and creators of contemporary literature. Each meeting is dedicated either to a specific book or to open themes inspired by the interests and work of the invited guests. Originally, these gatherings took place in the unique setting of Opolgraf’s bookbinding workshop, which for a few hours transformed into a space for lively dialogue between the people of the Opole region and invited authors.

One of the Foundation’s flagship initiatives is the Opole Book Festival – a nationally recognized literary event that takes place every June and attracts thousands of readers, hundreds of publishers, and numerous authors. Over the course of three days, Plac Wolności in Opole becomes a vibrant literary village filled with conversations, emotions, and meaningful encounters with books.

The festival hosts some of the most popular Polish and international writers and offers a diverse program of author meetings, children’s workshops, concerts, and special events – including literary cruises, thematic panels, and book premieres. Recent highlights include the Young Adult Panel and “Crime on Board” – a series of author events held on a boat.

Year after year, the Opole Book Festival receives growing acclaim from participants and the publishing industry alike. As bestselling author Remigiusz Mróz noted: “Opole is home to the best book festival in the world (…). I highly recommend it!” And in the words of Agora Publishing House: “The Opole Book Festival shines brightly beyond the industry’s biggest events – with its unique atmosphere and the charm of the city, it’s a must-visit for top-tier authors and readers alike.”

We are proud that Opole is increasingly recognized as a city of culture and literature – and that the Book Festival is a space where a shared passion for reading brings people of all ages together.
