The success of the 2016 Opole Book Festival

Opole is reading! More than seven thousand people took part in numerous festival events: book fair, meetings with authors, workshops, the Great Opole Dictation Contest and concerts.

Two days, three concerts, 37 authors and 41 exhibitors from all over Poland. The 2016 Opole Book Festival, organised by the Opolgraf printing house and the Inspiration Factory Foundation, is the first event of its type in Poland to promote reading through music.

“It’s amazing! Our family spent two fantastic days here! Thank you!” says Arek Branicki, a discussion participant. The family character of the Book Festival resulted from the presence of children’s book publishing houses, as well those for older readers. The visitors could also buy books at reduced prices during the book fair, which took place in the Opole Concert Hall. “An interesting venue, the city centre, a great atmosphere and lovely Opole. The choice of venue, close to the city library and park, the engagement, the number of meetings with authors, big names – these things do not happen so often during such events, compared to other cities. Châpeau bas!” says Marcin Porczyński of the Literatura publishing house.

"OPOLGRAF" JOINT STOCK COMPANY is implementing a project co-financed by the Re-Open UK Programme entitled "Investments in OPOLGRAF S. A. as a response to the negative effects of Brexit". The aim of the project is to counteract the negative effects of Brexit. The implementation of the project will improve the quality and colour of final products through more precise and accurate halftone dots with much sharper edges, as well as much greater resistance to wear during the production process. By implementing the project, the Applicant will be able to compensate for the increase in trading costs with the United Kingdom. The total project value is 254,610.00 EUR, of which the contribution from the European Funds is 199,000.00 EUR.
